The Moment I Would Relive if I Could

about time

I recently had the opportunity to preview the upcoming movie About Time that’s opening on November 8th. I knew I was going to love it because it was made by the same people who created one of my very favorite flicks Love Actually…And I was right. I adored every single minute of it. I won’t spoil anything, but I will just say that if your heart isn’t touched after watching this movie, I will be shocked. You will probably shed some tears, but you’ll walk away smiling! Plus, it’s a romantic dramedy with Rachel McAdams. You can’t go wrong with her when it comes to romantic pictures!

In a nutshell, About Time is about a young man whose male family members can travel back in time and how this ability shapes who he becomes and how he lives his life after he starts going back and trying to re-do things…After I got home that night, I started thinking about moments that I would relive if I could and one, in particular, came to mind…

In the summer of 2012, a lovely little girl came into the world. My lil’ lady bean made her appearance in a very calm manner. From contractions to the big show, she was here in less than four hours. It was serene, beautiful and in stark contrast to her brother’s birth which involved a whole lot more pain, pushing and chaos. I wouldn’t change either experience because they’re how my babies got here, but the peace and tranquility that came with my daughter’s birth was delightful. I should have cherished it a bit more at the time, because it’s been CRAZY over here since the moment she came home. Haha! My girl is a wild child and going going going from the time she gets up until the moment she falls asleep. Don’t you wish you had that much energy? I know I do!

brothers and sisters

If I could relive that day in the hospital after my lil’ lady bean arrived, I would do it over and over and over again. After we settled in a bit, my mom and sister brought the dude by to meet his little sister. That is a moment that will be imprinted in my mind for eternity. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anything quite as sweet as the way he looked at her with those love filled baby blues. As soon as he walked in the room he said…”Is that my baby?!?” And then, of course, he wanted to hold her. Being a second time mama, I was way more laid back, so he got the go ahead. After the hubs handed him to her, he stroked her little cheek and sighed with such contentment. Just the thought of still brings me to tears. It was truly the beginning of a  beautiful relationship. She was meeting her protector and he was meeting the girl he’ll always look out for. They will be each other’s partner in crime. In fact, they already are! I thought it was chaotic with one kiddo tearing the house up…Now they HELP each other do it, but I digress…

All I can say is that I will be eternally grateful that I shot a video of a the dude meeting the lil’ lady bean for the first time because while I can’t relive it, I can watch that moment whenever I want to!

So, what moment would you relive if you could lovelies?

I would probably relive a moment from my childhood. It seems so far away now, it would be nice to see my parents young again and feel that time.
