Right now I’m all about easy, flowing pieces that aren’t too clingy. After nearly a year, medication has finally helped regulate my thyroid, so I will now be able to start seeing results from all the work I’ve been putting in on my post baby bod. If any of you have thyroid issues, you know that it’s a slow process, so I will continue to embrace pieces that are comfy and camouflage my problem areas without sacrificing style! The maxi that eShakti gave me fits my requirements to a tee and it’s now one of my favorite transitional pieces.
When eShakti offered to send me something, I was particularly excited about the fact that I was able to customize it. I simply picked out the dress I liked and selected what kind of sleeves it would have (none, ha!), the neckline, length etc. I chose a flowy chambray maxi because I knew it would be the kind of dress I could rock in the summer and take on into fall with some layering. Since we’re still rockin’ temps in the nineties here, I don’t actually need the layering quite yet, but my pumpkin colored Zara blazer will be the perfect piece to layer my maxi with when the temps DO cool down. For now, I can grab it to fight off the frigid air conditioning in the movie theater for instance.
Did I mention it has pockets? This girl is a sucker for pockets. Just sayin’!
Since my blazer is such a bold color, I decided to go simple with the accessories and opted for just two pieces, a lovely multi-metal “Braided Bullet” beaded necklace sent to me by Noonday Collection and a Mark statement ring. Have you guys heard about Noonday Collection by the way? The founder, Jessica Honegger’s, mission is to alleviate poverty in poor parts of the world through entrepreneurship. Jessica started Noonday Collection to raise funds to adopt a child from Rwanda, so orphan care and prevention are a focus as well. I just love that artisans across the world create these unique pieces and by purchasing them, we can help empower these people! There is also an opportunity to join the Noonday Collection team as an ambassador. You can sell these special pieces while helping people at the same time. Score!
I finished off my look with the gorgeous patent hobo diaper bag that JP Lizzy sent over. I’m all about diaper bags that don’t LOOK like diaper bags and this one most definitely doesn’t. I carry it even when my lil’ lady bean isn’t with me! The neutral hue goes with everything and it’s super spacious which I appreciate since there seems to be no end to the mama “must haves” I can’t leave the house without. At least I have a stylish diaper bag to tote it all around in. Haha!
