Popping the Cork: Champagne Cocktails

Hi everyone! It’s Jackie from Jackie Fogartie Events. I am beyond thrilled to be contributing to the Bon Bon Rose Girls blog. When I first got involved in the wide world of blogging almost 4 years ago, Bon Bon Rose was one of the first blogs I fell in love with. As you can imagine, I’m over the moon to be sharing some entertaining/party tips and tricks with you!

So a few things about me: I love hilarious things, Italian food, wine and champagne. I always thought champagne was a luxury, but now you can find bottles of bubbly at the store for under $12 which is a total steal! As an event and wedding planner, I happen to think there is always an excuse to celebrate, so I recommend having a bottle of champ in the fridge at all times – you never know when you need some bubbly in your day! Get creative with some different champagne combos that are super easy and elegant at the same time. Along with my friend and talented photographer Kristin Lequire of Kristen LeQuire Photography, we staged a mini photo shoot with one main star: Champagne!

Beyond the Mimosa
Don’t get me wrong, I love a classic mimosa. The orange juice and bubbly combo is the perf way to start any day! But if you’re looking to mix it up, pick your favorite juice and add it to the bubbly. Pomegranate is great for a splash of dramatic color and sweetness. My current fave is grapefruit. The dreamy citrus color and tart taste is the perfect complement to champ’s sparkly characteristics.

Fun garnishes
If you’re not into “complicating” your bubbly flavor with fruit juices, add a pop of beautiful color with raspberries, blueberries or any fruit of your choice. Set up a few different small bowls of fruit and let your guests pick their garnish of choice.

Fancy Set-up
If you’re having the gals over, welcome them with a chic set-up. Display your flutes on a pretty tray and if they don’t match, it’s even better! Hit up an antique store and pick out several different styles of flutes for a vintage look. Place your bubbly in an ice bucket and dress up the rest of the table with fruit garnishes and juices.

Don’t fret – any type of bubbly will do! From Prosecco to Cava, the types of sparkling wines or champagnes are simply endless but are always celebratory. Whether you are having you’re ladies over to mark a special occasion or just because it’s a Tuesday night, make champagne part of the evening! Cheers!

I must have been *meant* to look at this blog for the first time today — because if there’s anything that gets my attention in a hurry, it’s champagne!!! I’m a believer in any reason to celebrate, too. I keep all of my champagne corks & write on them what the occasion was, so I now have a funny collection ranging from “made it through the week” to “last day on that #*%$ job” to “champagne Thursday!” to “got new job, yay!” to “got the keys to new house” to “our wedding day”… it makes for a fun record! Anyway, these pictures are GORGEOUS and I now want to go straight from work to the store for some bubbly since I don’t currently have any at home!
