If you follow us on Instagram, you might have noticed that my baby girl just had her first birthday. I can’t even begin put into words how amazing the past year has been! That little lady has made our already happy family downright giddy. It’s impossible not to smile when she’s around! Bonding with her has been such a pleasure.
A bonding experience that I’ve cherished doing with my both my kiddos is breastfeeding. Snuggling my little cherubs close while I fed them is something that I will remember forever. I hope that all you expecting mamas are able to breastfeed your children. It’s a personal choice and every mother knows what’s best for her. So, if breastfeeding isn’t possible for you, please don’t feel guilty about it. I know that’s easier said than done, but try to cut yourself a break! Doing what’s best for you and your baby is most important. If breastfeeding is something that you are able to do however, I can’t recommend it enough. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!
I thought I’d share some products that I couldn’t live without during my breastfeeding experience…especially at the beginning.
- A supportive, yet comfortable nursing bra is essential. Life will be so much easier for you if you invest in at least a couple good bras. Bravado Designs nursing bras have been favorites of mine since I had the dude five years ago and their new Essential Embrace nursing bra is heavenly. It’s so soft and comfy, it feels like second skin!
- For me, sitting in a cushy chair with my feet up and my baby resting on a nursing pillow was the most comfortable feeding position. Boppy pillows rock the house! Just sayin’.
- I’m a modest kinda gal, so I preferred to use a nursing cover if I was going to be around people while I was breastfeeding. More power to you if you don’t want to deal with one though. No judgment here!
- I’m a bit of an over producer, so pumping was a necessity for me. Medela pumps are absolute powerhouses! I adored mine.
So, what are your breastfeeding must haves mamas?
