What to Wear to a Beach Wedding

Being a Florida girl, I’ve been to my share of beach weddings including my sister’s big day last year. I can tell you that what you wear will be directly related to how good a time you have, especially if it’s hot out.

In celebration of the personal shopping app Shopcade’s wedding month and BIG Twitter party on 6/20/2013, I’m going to share an ideal beach wedding look with you!

what to wear to a beach wedding, maxis, maxi dresses, metallic sandals

My dress of choice for beach weddings is always a flowy maxi. It allows for maximum air flow and you can easily dress it up or down depending on how formal the wedding is. My sister, for instance, had  a semi-formal affair that called for cocktail attire. A dressy maxi, metallic sandals and dramatic baubles make this look beach and wedding appropriate. You might want to throw some flip flops in your bag or plan on going barefoot during the ceremony if you’ll be walking on the sand. Just sayin’.

And make sure you check out Shopcade to help you shop for the latest and greatest summer trends! You’ll have that beach wedding ensemble put together in no time. So, have you ever been to a beach wedding? What did you wear?

What a timely post! Summer is the season for beach and garden weddings. Last week I featured seven gorgeous summer wedding guest dresses inspired by Lily´s wedding in Gossip Girl season 1. I was smitten by Selena´s long, whimsical dress and I wanted to recreate it. I think this coral flowy maxi you found is really perfect.

This is one amazingly beautiful dress. I once wore what is technically a beach coverup from DVF to a 100+ degree summer wedding… best decision ever! No one’s ever happy in uncomfortable clothing!
