Rationally I know that the first year of a baby’s life goes by ridiculously fast. This isn’t my first rodeo, yet somehow I wasn’t at all prepared for how soon my lil’ lady bean would turn one. The same thing happened with my son, so you would think I would see it coming. Nope. I was in full blown denial until it came time to plan her first birthday party. I’ve seen so many milestones come and go this past year and every time I see her conquer another one I feel like it’s just TOO soon!
I mean how is it possible that she’s been sitting up for seven months now? Has she really been crawling for five? How can this be? Clearly we’re in some kind of time warp. I know I’m not the only mama who has struggled with the passage of time. Yet, I still can’t believe that it’s been a whole year since we brought our sweet baby girl home from the hospital.
That teeny tiny bundle of joy is now up on two feet (you may remember when I posted about how I can pull on her Huggies Slip-On diapers while she’s standing), clapping, walking around all our furniture like it’s her job and she’s even waving and saying bye. Does that count as her first word? I can’t decide. She waves that cute little hand and says bye as she does it, so I’m thinking it counts right? Whether it’s a word or not, it’s beyond adorable to watch!
I’m cherishing every single moment in my daughter’s life and I’m especially grateful to have a forum like this to record them on. When I’m missing this stage, and I know I will, I can look back to this post and reminisce about my favorite girl waving bye bye!

And please share a milestone you’ve just shared with your baby!
