Our Family Fun Night

Thursday, December 20, 2012

Now, more than ever, spending time with my sweet babies is of the utmost importance! This weekend, I could do little else but hold on to my kiddos. Despite my sadness over Friday’s tragic events, I decided the best thing I could do was make special memories with my family.

So, I declared Saturday evening Family Fun Night. We made a Christmas tree shaped pizza. We baked Rudolph cookies (the chocolate covered pretzels were our antlers). And we snuggled on the couch while enjoying one of our favorite flicks. The dude had and a blast and the lil’ lady bean had even more fun simply watching her brother! To say I am beyond grateful to be able to have moments like those with my children would be a gross understatement.

Did I mention our dance party? When I attended The Mother of All Baby Showers, I had the pleasure of meeting  a local Tampa mama, Ellie, who has her own business called Mommy Masters. Ellie is an author, singer and song-writer who recently released a children’s CD, Music is Magical, which helps parents teach their wee ones valuable lessons through the joy of music. Ellie was kind enough to send me a CD and I must say that the songs are just darling. Anything that can make the dude think having good manners is fun is aces with me!

It’s so important to treasure the little moments with our children, especially due to the tragedy in Connecticut. A Christmas tree shaped pizza sounds like fun! We do make your own pizza every Christmas Eve and it’s a blast!

I think a family fun night was the perfect way to address the tragedy in your own home… can’t wait until Salem can partake in these sort of things…..
