James Hance Books and Prints Giveaway

Tuesday, December 4, 2012

Today’s giveaway of three Wookie the Chew book and print sets from James Hance is close to our hearts, not only because we love Winnie the Pooh and the artist’s genius take on a cross between Star Wars and Winnie the Pooh, but because the artist, James Hance, who makes his living painting characters from ’80s pop culture like “The Muppets,” “Star Wars,” “Labyrinth” and “Where the Wild Things Are,” to name a few, is a father who is hopelessly devoted to his little girl, Maddy, who is suffering from debilitating conditions that have left her with persistent pain. She’s an absolute doll and can be seen on his website with the sweetest smiles on her face. As mamas, we of course, wanted to show our support for James efforts for his daughter! All proceeds from Wookie the Chew go toward Maddy’s medical fund.

Winnie the Pooh was a favorite of mine growing up, as was Star Wars. This is like peanut butter and chocolate.

I grew up loving Winnie the Pooh. I didn’t discover Star Wars until I was nearly grown :( but am in love with the three originals now.

I’m a pretty hardcore Star Wars gal and my favorite stuffed animal growing up was a Pooh bear. My girl would live these too!
