Hello Loves! I can’t believe that my wedding is only 52 days away??!!! Oh my! Things are getting very busy and very exciting as we are hitting the home stretch of the planning phase.
A couple of months back I had the pleasure of working with Ashley of Lemon & Lavender for my custom wedding invitations. Remember the sneak peek I shared? Ashley is amazingly talented and a joy to work with! She really took the time to get to know me and understand the feel of the event.
She has an in depth and wonderful process to start off your customized invites. Ashley sent me over a slew of questions in relation to my wedding. Basically, the more she knew about my event, the better she could visualize the design of the invitation. I sent her links to my wedding dress, my bridesmaid dresses, color swatches, sample weddings I swoon over, etc. After a few emails and detailed answers to her questions, Ashley began working on the design. She sent over font options, color options, wording options, and more. While she was the artist and understood the nature of design better, she still allowed the customization to be a collaborative effort between the two of us. As a bride with an um well OBSESSION with detail, I was so happy with how patient she was throughout the entire process. I could not be happier with the result!
Ashley perfectly matched our color scheme of eggplant, lavender, and chartreuse. She incorporated our love of the beach with beautiful starfish. But most importantly, my FAVORITE piece of her design was the custom scroll along the top which reads: “A dream is a wish your heart makes”… My fiance proposed to me in front of Cinderella’s Castle and this Cinderella quote was the perfect way to tie it all together! I was blown away when Ashley suggested that! Just as the invite reads… “Once in a while in the midst of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale…” This is so true ladies! So true!
When assembling my invitations, I knew I wanted a sleek way to tie them together. I found stunning eggplant satin ribbon at Michael’s that gave that PERFECT extra touch. What do you think???
One last little tip! Place a label with the guest’s names on the back of your RSVP card. You will be AMAZED at how many people do not write their name on it. (Eh um – my SISTER being one of them! HA!)
Many thanks to Ashley for her wonderful work and please take a moment to visit her over at her blog!
Thanks for another Wedding Wednesday post from my sister! I think she’s making that part about my RSVP card up. Just sayin’.
