We’re having a blast vacationing in North Carolina, so while I don’t have a great post for you today, but I do have pics from yesterday’s adventure, exploring Grandfather Mountain.
It was our first really nice weather day and we were all just itching to get out there and explore. Grandfather Mountain did not disappoint. This is actually a private park and it was so well planned and maintained that it made spending the day on a mountain with a baby a breeze.
Here is my Mom, Jake and my brother, aka “Uncle Grant”, at the entrance to the animal habitat. In almost every photo Jake has his eyes closed, so it must have been brighter than I realized, poor guy. The habitat area boasted large bears, cougars, playful otters and more, all of which were at some point in time injured and unable to live in the wild.
Clearly the bears were a hit…I mean they are just so big.
After the animals, we played on some rocks and of course Jake was a natural rock climber!
Next up we drove to the top of the mountain to take in the Mile High Swinging Bridge view. Hiking around with Jake in the Stokke MyCarrier in the backpack position was so comfortable and allowed us to both take in the awesome scenery. (Don’t mind my mom’s finger in the photo below. She tries, ha!)
The Mile High Swinging Bridge, a little scary but totally worth it!
My and my little man on top of the world!
As we were leaving I snapped this photo. Aren’t these couples so sweet taking in the view? True love lasts a lifetime!
So, that was our day at Grandfather Mountain. I highly recommend a visit to anyone going through North Carolina. I can’t wait to come again and explore even more of this great park!
