Vino Vacation

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

Hi lovelies, I’m writing you from the mountains of North Carolina.  Jake and I met up with some family for a little fall getaway.  In fact, you might have seen this pic of the little guy on a very large pumpkin over the weekend.

So far we’ve just been relaxing in the cabin, drinking wine and enjoying the fire.  It’s been very cozy and has inspired me to really enjoy fall to its fullest. And nothing says fall like a good glass of red wine.  These vino accessories from Viva Terra have me feeling the love.

This reclaimed wood wine rack, is great!  It’s such a nice size and I love the character.

Four little wine glasses in a cute caddy reminds me of sipping wine with friends in a cozy little bistro.

And for the ultimate in ambiance, a wine barrel table!  Whenever I see these at wineries or wine bars, I totally want one and now I know just where to find one.

I always forget how much I love Viva Terra, I mean they have some seriously great stuff!  What do you think?  Are you feeling the wine love?

Megan

Where are you in WNC? We live in Asheville and are from Boone, so we’ve got it all covered.

@REBrown, I’m just outside of Boone in Seven Devils! Any good restaurant or activity suggestions? We did Grandfather Mountain today and plan on doing the Biltmore later in the week. Would love any other good ideas!

I love these too. Your son with the huge pumpkins looks great.
I figured out the Monday Mingle. The next morning the links were there.
May be there was a midnight update of the system or something. :)
Daphne.

That picture of your little man is perfectly adorable! And these photos are absolutely gorgeous, like they’re straight from a magazine.

I so want everything on this post for my own home. Well, except for the giant pumpkin. That thing is WAY to big to fit on my front stoop.

@Erika, Ha, and it would be interesting trying to get it in the car!

I need to pick up a bottle of vino stat! You’re right, the crisp fall weather is perfect for enjoying a bottle of red :)

There is a great place at a country club close to you called Hound Ears called the Gamekeeper. It has lots of weird game meat, but it is seriously so good. There’s also a really fun family place in Banner Elk (not too far either) called the Bayou that is really good. You may also want to check out King Street in Boone. There are tons of little shops and restaurants down there too.

My husband and I used to work at Linville Caverns – it’s really cool you should check it out. It’s also really inexpensive and close to Grandfather Mountain. There’s also lots of gem mining places around (but it’s pretty chilly this week so that could get pretty cold). The parkway is also awesome this time of year, so really anywhere around there is cool.

I hope you’re having a ton of fun – it’s a really pretty area.
