Who doesn’t love seeing little ones decked out in their Halloween costumes? I think they are just adorable, so we decided to go to the Westfield Family Spooktacular Costume Contest. Only one issue. Jake flat out refused to wear his lion costume. Sure, it was a little snug and included a furry head piece, but I was pinning my hopes on having a first adorable Halloween. Well, rather than deal with the continued meltdown, I fashioned together this football outfit out of what we had on hand, and raced to the mall.
The coveted trophies and Build-A-Bear prizes for best costume!
What a turnout! Kids were lined up in huge groups.
This little skunk was one of my favorites.
As was this character from Monsters, Inc. I just love those googly eyes!
Jake of course hammed it up on stage despite phoning it in for his costume.
His frist medal for participation, ha!
It was a great time and welcome distraction from Hurricane Sandy which is quickly approaching us. It’s great being able to participate in such cute and fun events as a Family. Westfield Family also has great trick-or-treating and kid friendly festivities on Halloween from 5-7pm. You can find out more here or RSVP on their Facebook page.
