This weekend I worked on a series of easy Halloween inspired crafts and I plan on sharing them over the course of the week. All of the ideas are so simple they can easily be done before the big spooky day next week, as well as modified to your liking. First up is this goofy Jack-o’-lantern inspired candy jar.
I started off with this simple glass jar found at Michaels for just a few dollars and some craft paint.
After deciding I needed painters tape to help me get the triangle edges straight, I filled it in with two layers of black paint. Painting on glass often requires a few paint layers, otherwise it can turn out a little streaky.
I then free handed Jack’s mouth, again with two paint layers. Then gave it an hour or so to thoroughly dry.
Then I popped open those bags of candy corn and filled him up. Doesn’t he just look silly? This is definitely one happy candy filled Jack!
His final resting place is in our living room, free from the reach of little hands that may get a little too excited by the sheer volume of candy corn. In all this little project took only a few hours to complete and definitely adds some quirky holiday inspired charm.

Is it bad that the first thing I noticed was the candy corns and it took me like three minutes to notice the design. Which, I love, by the way. I also love candy corns. Obviously.

I could never leave candy out like that though. Little Bit would make herself sick.
