Last week I was thrilled to head to NYC for the day and participate in the Old Navy Fit For Fall Fashion Show. I mean what girl hasn’t dreamed of strutting her stuff on the runway in the oh so famous Bryant Park?!
The show was hosted by Jenny McCarthy and ended with a free Backstreet Boys concert, but most importantly I loved the message of this campaign. Every single woman who came to Bryant Park was able to try on and keep a pair of Old Navy Rockstar jeans and then walk the runway. After all, fashion is for all women, no matter their shape or size, so shouldn’t we all get a shot at working that runway? 15 bloggers including little ol’ me kicked off the show and then made way for hundreds of fab ladies!
So, to recap the day, once I saw this kind of crazy massive set-up I started to get pretty nervous and had visions of falling. Seriously.
This massive line waiting to get in didn’t help my nerves either.
So, I got a Starbucks and mani, the perfect cure! Once I checked in there was, thankfully, someone on hand to touch-up our make-up.
Next up, it was all about choosing which pair to wear? So many fab colors, so little time. I may just have to go back to Old Navy to grab them in that great green!
And then poof! It was time to walk and Jenny McCarthy was kicking us off. Doesn’t she look great?!
And here I am backstage after walking. I paired the cuffed plum Rockstar Jeans with a black Banana Republic sweater, leopard print Michael Kors flats, bangles and the bow necklace from J. Crew.
And here is our bloggy buddy Megan (yes we’re both Megans!) of The Frugalista Diaries who also walked. It was such a nice treat to hang out in person with both her and several other great fashion bloggers! Overall, it was a great day and I am so thrilled I can actually cross off “walking the runway” from my bucket list!
