Decor Deja Vu

Friday, August 17, 2012

You know that feeling of deja vu.  Like you’ve been someplace before or had a repeat of a conversation and I don’t mean the kind where that man eating cheetos on the couch next to you your darling hubby just doesn’t pay attention. That’s the feeling that came over me when I saw these photos of this adorable California beach house in House Beautiful.  I’m guessing it might have also made an appearance on some HGTV show?  Regardless, I’ve been really drawn to white, open decorated spaces lately.  Something I noticed due to my Pinterest problem.

So, what do you think of all the white in this beach house?  I’m normally a color girl, but am digging it!

I especially love this outdoor space.  Don’t you just want to cozy up with friends and wine?!

Love the chalkboard, and that outdoor space overlooking the mountains is out of a dress. Living in a big dirty city for 7 years has be dreaming of simple times. :o )

@kristen, I know right, we also get so much rain that I would be carting stuff in and out constantly. But so great for the CA climate!

I think all of the white is lovely. It would not work for us as our puppy is black and she sheds… :(

I love it! I saw this too and was drawn to all the white! If only I didn’t have two pups it would work out perfect for white! Those two girls are not the tidiest! Happy wknd! xo -Taj

I am obsessed with white couches and white furniture in general. I love it so much but with a toddler who is all up in everything it’s just not possible. We have a dark purple/navy couch and we wanted to get a new side chair when we moved to our new place. When I found THE PERFECT chair I could only see it in white. In my mind and my heart it was white. We chose the most gorgeous and classic fabric in a cream color and so far we’ve only have one issue (baby gone rogue with an ice cream sandwich) that caused serious heart palpitations but it was cleaned up thanks to oxy clean. I’m not gonna lie…I freak out when ever anyone sits on it when we have people over but whatever. I grew up in a house where my parents had beautiful furniture in our living room and no one ever EVER sat on it. We barely ever even used the living room except for holidays. living in an apt all we have is our living room and it’s for LIVING. I sort of shut my mind off to the fact that it can/will somehow get stained. I love the chair in our home and it reminds me that even though our life is different than when we had the baby more amazing than ever even if sometimes (most times) it’s messier.

the next “white” thing for our home is a bedspread. I’m so into the white bedspread look and I keep talking myself out of it but I think I just might have to upgrade our current stuff soon. x

I am so obsessed with white bedspreads! The hubs, however, stains EVERYTHING. Le sigh. ~ K

I absolutely love it. Gorgeous for a beach house, not sure about a regular home though…
