Hello lovelies! Don’t you just love the start of summer?! Warm days, hanging by the pool, and gorgeous fruit at every turn. This past weekend we decided to kick off our summer with some good ol’ fashioned strawberry picking. I found a local farm about 20 miles away, so we suncreened up and piled into the car. I had Jake in tow (thank goodness he loves riding along in his carrier!) so Shelby did a lot of the picking. We had a great time and even sampled some of the farm’s homemade strawberry ice cream as a reward for our hard work. I know he’s too small to get it now, but I hope to make regular farm trips so that we not only stock up on great food, but Jake gets to see first hand how food grows. Judging by that last smile, I think he digs it!
So, what have you been up to this long weekend? Anyone else have a proper Summer kick-off?

Fun! We had a strawberry patch in our backyard growing up, and those were the best strawberries I’ve ever eaten. I think the work of growing them and picking them made them taste all the sweeter!

So fun! I really want to go strawberry picking with my 21 month old. She would get SUCH a kick out of it. Time to start googling nearby farms!

Whoa, those strawberry leaves are huge! Mine never look like that… which is probably why I only get about three strawberries/year from them, haha.
