Gauze: My Favorite Summer Material

The love I have for gauze pieces is the kind that will last forever and always. I wore my beloved gauze little white dress from J. Crew so many times, it literally wasn’t fit for public display anymore. Haha! I have more gauze skirts than I can count. And don’t get me started on my gauze coverup collection. This glorious fabric is light, airy and oh so comfy. Essentially, it’s the perfect summer material!

So, when I came across these gorgeous gauze pants from Free People, I knew I had to have them! The smocked waist line makes them perfect for my post baby bod and the emerald hue would look smashing in a colorblock look or against stark white! Plus, they remind me of Carrie from This Free Bird and I adore her free spirited style!

So, help me decide lovelies…Are they worth the $98.00 price tag?

Call me crazy, but there just aren’t many articles of clothing that I think are worth $98. A winter coat or a pair of high quality running sneakers – sure. A beautiful dress for a super important event – maybe. But pants? I’m sorry, I just think these are a little overpriced. Then again, this is coming from an unemployed blogger on a budget. So, you know, take my opinions with a grain of salt :)

I’m curious…is it just me or is there a weird ‘bunching’ along the panty line? Love the pants, but I’d be curious if that ‘bunching’ is a flaw…like don’t think of wearing underwear in these pants.

That’s smocking at the waist. :)
