Tweed Jackets: A Closet Staple

I thought that I was finished with my fall must haves list, until I realized that I left off one very important item. The tweed jacket definitely deserves a spot on said list. Any Chanel worshiper will tell you that no wardrobe is complete without this classic piece!

After seeing North on Harper’s coverage of Chanel’s spring 2012 collection, I once again wanted to insert pearls into my look and what better thing to pair pearls with this fall than a tweed jacket? I kind of loved the unexpected ways that pearls were styled on Chanel’s runway…but I digress!

If you’re on the same page regarding tweed jackets, here are a few options for you…Thoughts?

tweed jackets

1. Gap
2. LOFT
3. Bebe
4. NY Collection at Macy’s {A BonBon Deal of the Day at $29.99!}
5. Neiman Marcus

    Awww… thanks for the shout out Kristin!!!

    I have a tweed jacket and some interesting (unusual?) pearl options that I want to play with pairing together. I think the challenge is to keep the look young and youthful (the way Karl Lagerfeld does it for Chanel!). All your examples definitely fit that description- but I am most in move with the Loft and Neiman Marcus examples!

    Hope you share what you come up with!!

    Great pics! Tweed jackets are such a staple. They come back every couple of years and it is great to pull out old ones and revamp the wardrobe. Zara has some great ones right now too!!

    Hello stranger! I’m finally back to blogging and I’m so glad to be back. I just wanted to pop over and say “Hello!”.

    Tweed and pearls definitely screams Chanel and goes together like PB&J. I really love the one from Bebe.

    Hmm, tweed is tough. I think the best way to incorporate it is to either go with it- pearls, tights, Chanel-style or really juxtapose it with edgier pieces like a tee-shirt, dark jeans, metals.
