If you watched last week’s episode, then you know you won’t be hearing a certain sweet southern drawl on Project Runway anymore. I must admit that I missed the mark when I predicted who I thought would go all the way based on the first couple episodes. Two of my top picks, Olivier and Anthony Ryan, are no longer in the running.
I was definitely surprised that Anthony Ryan was the one to get the boot last week, as I thought there were worse designs on the runway. I think Joshua M. is incredibly talented, but those black and white plaid pants were dreadful. Two words…Pancake booty.
When I caught up with Anthony Ryan on Friday, I asked him if he expected to be the one sent home after seeing his fellow designers’ looks. His response was, “No. I was pretty surprised that I went home. There were a couple that weren’t 70s at all and some were poorly made.”
When I inquired as to whether he had regrets regarding his looks for the 70s challenge he said that when he went into judging, he “felt ok. The maxi dress was kind of last minute, but I loved what I did with the first look.”
He definitely has confidence, and unlike some other designers, I don’t think it’s always misguided. Unless, we’re talking about that romper from episode five. EEEEK! Despite that little design flop, I think Anthony Ryan has a very bright future.
To his fans, he had this to say…”This isn’t the end for me. They will see me again!” And I sincerely hope we will!
If you’re hungry for more, you’ll be able to find my episode recap over at Lifetime Moms later in the week!

I was SO sad when Anthony Ryan left!!!!! It should have been Kimberly in my opinion.

I’ve always wondered what exactly is on those “score cards” the judges have. And if they keep some running tally of points on each designer or are they really only judged on the one outfit. I guess only Tim and Heidi know!

I was really sad when I saw him go. He was my top pick from the beginning and he will definitely be missed! I thought Joshua needed to go home (but he does bring more drama)!

I was disappointed too! I’ve been wrong all season!

True, those pants were a disaster (along with the rest of the outfit, really). But he seems so sweet!

That maxi dress got my attention. I would wear it. I would even wear the pants – on a day I’m feeling REAL confident! HA!

It was a great episode. The jumpsuit that is sold on Piperlime is already sold out! It was definitely a nice one!

noooooo! I just moved, and don’t even have my cable set up yet, but noooooooo! I love Antony Ryan. I have got to get caught up on episodes. On another note, I’m glad Oliver got eliminated, his asthetic was extremely boring.

I was SO sad to see him go. I was sure it would be Joshua and those terrible pants! But like someone else said, Joshua does bring the drama (like Bert who should’ve gone home long ago!).

I love that I can watch an episode and then hear what the eliminated designer has to say here the following week. Thanks Kristin!

I love Josh M, but I agree that those pants were dreadful! I had originally loved Anthony Ryan, but I do feel his designs had been deteriorating and that they are never really “wow factor” like Viktor or Anya. I kind of liked that maxi, though, and I like that he approached a different side of the seventies.

I was sad to see him go. Im excited to see what he does next!

I have not had cable in near 5 years and I miss Project Runway dearly! Really loved catching up on it with you! Almost felt like we were sitting on the couch lounging in our PJs watching this episode together as I was reading each sentence!

I hope Kimberly wins. Not only is she a very good designer, but she’s the only one with any class. The others talk about each other behind the back even though they are the ones who end up in the bottom two and the other girl is starting to show her backstabbing ways too and I believe she’s given credit over the others because she supposedly started sewing 4 months ago. The gay guy with the dangerous attitude is a very good designer when he’s on his meds, I mean he can’t really be that strange and angry. I did like Oliver, but he got stranger and stranger as the show went on to the point I became almost ill watching him.
