I know some of you are going to curse me for daring to post about outerwear before September has even arrived, but I couldn’t help myself! I ripped my beloved J. Crew cherry colored coat at fashion week in February, so I’ve been keeping an eye out for its replacement ever since.
Vino inspired hues are HOT for fall {remember my bordeaux post?!?} and this plum/wine wool trench coat is right up my alley!
AND it’s under $160 at Victoria’s Secret! Unless we’re talking about a timeless piece like a Burberry trench, I find it difficult to spend a great deal of money on a coat since we don’t have much use for them here in Tampa. So, is outerwear on your fall must have list this year lovelies?

Love it!!! I’ve been on a search for the perfect coat since last winter! I’ve seen a couple that I kinda like, but this one is great!!! That plum color is gorgeous! I couldn’t pull it off, but I love the green color. I added it to my Fall Style File on Pinterest ; )

I live where we have freezing winters and I still hate spending lots of money on a coat, haha…I got my DKNY coat for $130

That trench is KILLER. the cut, the color, everything. It really is a deep beautiful wine color….tho for a wine lover like me, it may tempt me towards wine too often

I’m constantly buying coats. So many get damage by winter. It’s so cold come November. Any type of outerwear is a must in my city.

Oh Kristin,
I LOVE that Burgundy colour. I wear black mostly but this colour is my 2nd favourite. I must look out for a burgundy coloured coat for the winter. XXXX

Oh my gosh. I’m incredibly picky about my coats, but this is one of the ONLY times I have ever come across a photo of a trench and seriously have been DESPERATE to own it!! I love the cut and the classic design and the color!! It’s gorgeous. So classic, yet so unique. I need to save up money for this. My mom inhales Victoria’s Secret catelogs so I might actually be able to sneak free shipping on this with one of her orders!!

LOVE that coat! I couldn’t justify spending that either. I’m trying to justify dropping a couple benjamins on a pair of boots though. Lol (post tomorrow)

It’s so pretty!

Tsssss. That’s hot! Never too soon to start swooning for coats. I just scored a killer vintage trench. 106 degrees and all (I exaggerate a bit) there was no way I was leaving that coat behind.

This shade is actually my school’s color, so I actually already own quite a bit of it! More of an excuse to stock up, I suppose.

That trench is STUNNING! I love it.

OOOOO this coat is beautiful! Why did you have to tempt me???? A coat was not on my list because I live in Chicago and have invested in my coat wardrobe. Let’s see, I spy a Burberry Black Trench with a Removable Liner, an edgy black wool coat from Mackage, an Ivory Wool Trench from BR, and a forest green short puffer down jacket from Andrew Marc with raccoon fur trim around the hoodie. Idk…I think my closet could accommodate this little bordeaux number

In Tampa, that beauty would see maybe a few weeks of use a year, most. But here in Colorado, that plum deliciousness would get a good 5 months worth of wear a year! I got a great black military inspired wool trench last year, but this one would be a very nice addition to my coat closet! Thanks for spotlighting such a great piece!

with the heat now can’t imagine even needing a coat, however this one is pretty awesome (and way more flattering than a khaki). nice find! so tempted to order from VS but never have online… have you had success?

I don’t like cold weather but I sure do like jackets and coats! Here in northern Florida we still get to wear them a bit. Love everything about that trench!
[Reply]
What a great coat! I’ve worn the same red jacket for cold weather for umpteen years – alas, it’s probably indestructible.
