Neon doesn’t have to be scary!

Monday, January 17, 2011

I’ve been seriously wanting to add more neon hues to more wardrobe ever since I saw Miu, Miu, Christian Dior and Burberry Prorsum, among others, send gloriously bright pops of color down their spring runways. And let’s not forget about how gorgeous  Claire Danes looked last night in her Barbie worthy Calvin Klein Golden Globes gown!

Would I wear head to toe neon like I proudly sported in the 80s? Probably not…But I would totally add a carefully selected neon piece to my ensemble in an effort to inject a little fun into my look, especially if we’re talkin’ about a goin’ out look! Is neon something y’all would consider rockin’ yourselves or does it bring back too many bad memories of  scrunch socks?

Very true! I particularly adore pairing neon colours with whites, neutrals and greys . It just give an outfit a fun, unexpected & edgy quality! Great finds by the way. I have a similar long cardi to the Old Navy one you’ve pictured and I love it :)

I am going to have to go with small doses of neon.
I already did the head to toe thing in the 80′s LOL
I do love a pop of it though, have a sweater and a scarf already, might want to add a watch now!

I feel totally the same way. Like the neon but too afraid to add. I like the idea of adding a few neon pieces. Like that top from F21 over black bottoms. Funny when in pink the neon doesn’t look too screaming. But yellow and green are a whole other story. And don’t get me started on orange neon!

I so agree Kristin, Claire Danes did look fabulous in her neon pink. She has such a glow about her and then for her to wear that incredible color she must of lit up the room?! Good examples for us to wear neon without looking like we are walking bingo parlor markers!

Happy Monday to you ladies..eeek!! xo

LOVE the dress! I can rock neon so much better in the spring and summer … and that dress would FIT RIGHT IN! Something about neon reiminds me of clear colorful popsicles and happy summer days after all of the winter boots and gloves!
