Rachel Bilson Inspired Me to Dress Up Denim

Monday, October 4, 2010

Only two days left to enter our $100 LuLu’s shopping spree giveaway!

It’s here again lovelies…That cruel mistress known as Monday has shown her unwelcome face yet again. Is anyone else having a tough time getting going this morning? I’m hoping that my pot of Jamaica Blue java will pep me up a LOT or it’s gonna be a loooooooong day! Ya’ll know that fashion usually cures my rotten moods, so I must thank Rachel Bilson for helping me step away from the Monday blues for a at least a moment or two.

I’m sure most of you have seen this amazing photo of her at Roberto Cavalli’s 40th anniversary party. Rosebud Network member The Redhead Fashionista featured it in her recent Friday Favorites post. Once I saw it, I was instantly inspired. Me being inspired by this style crush of mine is not unusual. Rachel Bilson’s inherent sense of style floors me more often than not and the pairing of a gorgeous feline printed gown paired with a scarlet clutch just speaks to me.

I often pair my leopard pieces with a red pout or mani, but now I’m dying to add red accessories to the mix! Since I don’t have a red carpet event coming up anytime soon, I decided to create a look that is a wee bit more dressed down than a gown, yet dressed up as far as a denim look is concerned. What do you think lovelies? Will you be rockin’ leopard and red this season?

Update: Wendy B reminded me that she’s always done leopard and red…And shame on me for not mentioning her because she certainly does give R. Bil a run for her money. Can you believe this dress made it to WWD’s Disaster Area page? Craziness!

Lovely! I only have leopard-print flats. I don’t think I can pull off much more leopard than a small accessory like that, but I love it on others!

Definitely know what you mean about having a hard time getting going this morning. I’m still sitting here in my pajamas. Shhhh! Don’t tell anyone ;) I love the leopard with the red accessories. Everything about her look is perfect…the hair, the makeup, everything. It does actually make me excited about getting dressed this morning. Maybe I’ll have to go scrounge around in the ol’ closet for something sassy today.

@The BonBon Rose Girls, ha ha! Thanks! It kind of bums me out to see the world running wild with my signature look, I must admit…but I know in a season all the fashionistas will declare it “so ovah” and I can go back to being picked on by WWD in peace.

Love the leopard and red look! I’ve got a few little leopard elements, but I’m not daring enough to go too bold with it. Red lips, on the other hand, are a pretty common part of my look. Haha.

Red and leapord is a classic combo that has to be done with care in order to not look seedy. I always appreicate when someone pulls it off so elegantly like Rachel Bilson. I’m a fan of Cavali dresses, and she just looks magnificent! I would like to give this look a try, especially considering the gorgeous red accessories i have in closet. Now to find the perfect leaporad cardigan…
