In a Frenzy Over Fifties Style Full Skirts

Wednesday, August 4, 2010

So, by now I think most of us have been drooling over the GORGEOUS ladylike silhouettes in Louis Vuitton’s outta this world fall ad campaign. If you haven’t scoped it out yet, you can see a sneak peek over at lovely Rosebuds’ blogs Spry on the Wall and The Girl Who Stole the Eiffel Tower! I’m going to go out on a limb and say that most of us can only dream about owning one of the gorgeous dresses that are featured in the campaign.  No worries…Even if we can’t go that high end with our everyday wardrobe, we can still rock a perfectly pretty full skirted silhouette!

Modcloth just so happens to have a beautiful selection of fifties reminiscent frocks…and you won’t have to forgo your kiddo’s college fund in order to purchase one of them. And even if you do have a bank account that can take a Louis Vuitton kinda hit…I daresay you will be tempted by these Modcloth pretties too!

On a side note…You may have noticed my mention of the incredible designer Stacy Lomman in a couple of my past posts. What you may not have noticed yet is the amazing opportunity that you all have to be part of the fashion world. Stacy is raising funds to show at New York Fashion Week. I donated what I could. I only wish I could do more. But if we all come together and donate a little bit, think how much that would add up to. In these trying economic times, it does a soul good to see someone achieve their dreams! Stop by Ms. Lomman’s blog, Taffeta Darlings, and find out how YOU can help a dream come true! In case you need a little push, take a look at one of her designs. It’s crazy fabulous right? I told you!

Gorgeous post. Modcloth is such a dream for their selection of retro dresses. I think they even have one called the Joan Party Dress (or something similar) that’s inspired by Christina Hendricks’s character on Mad Men. My wishlist over there is astounding!

So excited for Miss Lomman! I hope it all works out for her. Absolutely going to check out her blog now. (:
