Happy Monday lovelies! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! I can say I certainly did. The hubs and I finally got that date night I’ve been longing for! I’ve decided that I want to do more features on local finds so I can give ya’ll a taste of Tampa and I thought our night out on the town was a perfect place to start!
Friends of ours are moving this week, so we said goodbye to them double date style with cocktails and tapas at Fly. I don’t know about ya’ll, but I’m a huge fan of small plate restaurants. I always find it difficult to narrow down what I want when I’m out to eat, so being able to sample several different things in one meal definitely appeals to me! We split fish tacos with roasted tomatillo salsa, grilled hanger steak in chimichurri with fingerling potatoes and seasonal mushrooms, roasted garlic frites and truffled mac & cheese. I’m seriously salivating just thinking about it!
Not only was the food excellent, but their drink menu was something to speak of as well. I had a delicious champagne cocktail. Shocker I know. I can’t stay away from the bubbly. HA! Just like I can’t stay away from chocolate. The flourless chocolate cake we indulged in was beyond decadent!
If you’re looking for atmosphere this little joint has it in spades. The amazing artwork that covers the walls was all done by a local Tampa artist by the name of Sean Spoto.
After our dinner, we relaxed on the rooftop deck and took in the downtown Tampa skyline views. Unfortunately, it was drizzling and I couldn’t get a good shot of the gorgeous view. Where’s Floyd Yarmuth when you need him? The hubs was able to get a pretty decent shot of me and my adorable friend Janine though. Isn’t she darling?

I’ve been there for drinks before and a delicious dessert (I think it was the Coffee Ice Cream Parfait… so good!) but not for small plates. I loved the location though! You look so cute in your oufit
