A few weeks ago a friend of ours sent us a new product to try out to take the pain out of shoe wearing, called Footgloss. I’m always walking in the city or out and about running errands, so as soon as I heard that there might be a way to save my poor feet and make wearing some of my favorite shoes possible, I was all for trying it out. I especially have a hard time with breaking in cute ballet flats, but yet they are so perfect for getting around DC!
When it arrived it was much lighter and smaller than I expected. Basically it looked like a slightly larger chapstick. A few swipes on the back of my heel with the stick and OMG….It worked wonders! My feet were pain free for blocks and blocks! Still I wasn’t through testing it out so I packed it for my trip to Africa along with a pair of shoes I had yet to break in. Again, no pain!
So here we are weeks later and I’m head over heels in lurve. All my summer shoes are making their appearances for the first time of the year and for once I’m not gritting my teeth in pain as I walk down the street! And big hugs to The Ungourmet for bringing Footgloss to our attention!
Of course we couldn’t leave our readers out! After all your feet deserve some Footgloss love too! Leave a comment telling us which pair of shoes, you’d love to break in and one random, lucky winner will also receive some of their own. Contest ends Sunday at midnight EST!
Disclosure: We were provided with Footgloss samples at no cost for purposes of this review.

What a great idea. I could definitely use this. Living in NYC, I walk everywhere and am on my feet all the time.

What a great product! There isn't a shoe I need to break in, but I always tend to get blisters in the summer. Would love to try this product to combat that!
[Reply]
This seems like the holy grail for feet.
How does it work? Does it lubricate or anaesthetise?
[Reply]
Wow! Never heard of such a thing before. What a great idea:)
[Reply]
I would use it to break in a new pair of sandals or even with my flats I wear, but can rub your feet in the summer – hello, blisters – ick!
[Reply]
I need this for all these wedding shoes I'll be wearing this summer! (4 pairs in total!)
[Reply]
I would love to win footgloss! It's funny because all of my shoes that are currently my fav's had to be broken in 1st… and some even made my feet bloody! EEW gross i know! (way too gross for the morning) I LOVE TOMS (you know, one for one). And for my bday I got a gift card so I can buy 2 new pairs!!! (and 2 pairs will go to kids in need) I am holding out for their cute wedges. Omg, can't wait! But considering normal flat TOMS beat up the poor feet, I think these may be worse. This product would be PERFECT!

Sounds amazing! I have some new lovely leopard ballet flats that need a bit of FOOTGLOSS!
[Reply]
i'd use it on my little black with rainbow embroidery flats. i live in them, but they kill my feet sometimes! love to try!
[Reply]
Ooh what an exciting product! I hate blisters. In my dreams, I would be breaking in a pair of fabulous nude Louboutins!!!! But in reality it is probably my new pair of flats from Belks!
[Reply]
Neato!! I have always shunned any heel/sandal with a strap across the back of my foot because it never hits ME in the right spot and I end up with a raw spot. I think I still have several pairs (hem!) in my closet…
[Reply]
Ballet flats of coarse! Wonder if it works between toes to break in fit flops?
[Reply]
I got a similar product from Dr. Scholls that takes away friction and it works great! I would love to break in my blue BCBG heels, I think I got them too small
[Reply]
What a great idea!
Hmm, I'd love to use this on ALL my shoes. They never get broken in. Sigh.
[Reply]
Oh wow, it would be my best buddy for sure this summer!
[Reply]
That looks like a great product! I desperately need to break in some flats in my closet. I'd love to wear them and be sans heel blisters!

Sounds like a cool product! There's some ballet flats I have my eye on that'll need breaking in.

I've heard about this stuff! I would love to break in my new beige wedges : )

Footgloss sounds amazing! I'm dying over some cage shoes this season and am currently hunting for the perfect pair. With all the straps on them, I'm sure the Footgloss would be much welcomed!
[Reply]
Why can't I ever think of these ingenious inventions?! I go through the foot pain at the start of every season to try to get my feet used to that seasons shoes. I have a pair of peep-toed heels though that always manage to rub me the wrong way. I'd love to try it on those.
[Reply]
Ooh! Sounds amazing! I have a pair of jimmy choo pumps that my mom gave me years ago that i NEVER wear because they kill.
[Reply]
I don't know, that's freaking cool and strange at the same time. i'd have to be carefull not to pull it out my bag and use it on my lips after using it on my feet.
[Reply]
Almost bought a new pair of ballet flats…but didn't for that exact reason. Did not want my feet to hurt!
[Reply]
I want to break in a new pair of Vans flats without hurting my poor little feeties!!!!

Thanks for the lovely giveaway – I'm in!
I just purchased a new pair of summer wedges that will probably need some breaking in – but when it comes to strappy leather summer shoes and hot feet, I think the footgloss could be good any day!
[Reply]
Wow! I have never heard of this before…it sounds pretty cool!
[Reply]
I have some heels that haven't seen the light of day since I first wore them because they were so painful – I'd love to give Footgloss a try to see if it would make a difference.

I so have this problem with ballet flats and straps on summer sandals! sounds DIVINE!!
[Reply]
What an awesome idea! I'd love to try on some Footgloss too, especially with the countless pairs of flats I own!
[Reply]
That's crazy! I'd love to try it, especially after the horror I just had last week breaking in a new pair of shoes.
[Reply]
OMG I need this product. Thank you for introducing it to me. How is it I have never heard of this before?
I have plenty of peep toes that rub my toesy the wrong way & by the time I take off the shoes I am in agony with blisters. The shoes fit and if I go a half size larger I am slipping out of them as I walk and that my friend is an invitation to tumble which makes it much worse.
Love & Hugs,
Pam

This sounds great and I would love to win this so I can work on breaking in my new Michael Kors platform pumps.
[Reply]
I currently don't have any that I think I would need it for, however, once school starts again, and I will be purchasing some new shoes to teach in, that stuff would come in so handy! How cool is it?! WOW!
[Reply]
Wow – I have never heard of this… great idea!

Wow! nice gloss. Thanks for letting us know. I am a runner and everytime I do my half marathon I have blisters…

Oh, this is fabulous! I have to try and win this one. I have a pair of super cute pumps with a 3 inch heal that cut across the top of my foot and rub my heal terribly. I think this would solve that problem stat!
[Reply]
There's a pair of shoes at Dillards waiting to find their new home in my closet–and I think this stuff would do just the trick while breaking them in.
[Reply]
Oh I would LOVE this…not having to limp around in my cutest flats!! I have the best brown flat peep toe shoes and when i broke them in last year I was in pain and I know my heals are not feeling it this year!
[Reply]
Footgloss reminds me of Glide, which is a similar product for runners (you put it, for example, between your thighs, so they don't rub together when you run). So, Chapstick for your lips. Glide for your legs. And Footgloss for your feet. What are the odds the ingredients are exactly the same in all three?!? =)
[Reply]
Yes, PLEASE! I need some for my Steve Madden flats.

Just what I need! As a teacher on my feet all day, foot comfort is key. I have a pair of nude pumps that still rub me the wrong way! musingsonmtn@gmail.com

I need this! I'm on my feet for 12 hours a day as a pediatric critical care nurse so when I get to doll up for dates I tend to end the night with a big "ahhh" as my shoes come off. I have this pair of leopard print flats I love but can wear for about a half hour before my heals are done. Fingers crossed I can win this and finally enjoy the shoes I just can't give up!
[Reply]
Yay for product review! I totally trust you guys and would love if you did more of them.
I'm going to break in my new American Eagle flats. They look pretty daunting but oh so cute!
[Reply]
What a great find!! I'd try breaking in a pair of red peep toe heels I have. They're so tight, but I love them! Maybe a little gloss would help
[Reply]
I'd love to break in my high heels! It's so discouraging when I'm about to put on my heels knowing they will give me blisters by the end of the night!

So, wait, is this a blister-prevention magic formula? Count me in!!
[Reply]
This sounds GENIUS! I have a pair of Sam Edelman sandals and Aldo heels that could really use some of this stuff.
[Reply]
I would LOVE to try this because last summer I discovered Band-Aid, Friction Block which does the same thing. It works like MAGIC…I'd love to see if Footgloss does the same thing. Walking around in 96 degree 100% humidity weather in Miami this stuff is a MUST!
[Reply]
I can't wait to try it, my feet are so prone to gross blisters that I will try anything!

This looks like a great product. I wonder if it is good for runners?

I do a LOT of walking myself, and use Band-Aid Blister-stick, which does help, but I think I'm going to give this a try after my current blister-stick is done, since I still have particular problems with flats that rub the sides of my feet
